Commissions

Portrait commissions crafted with the same care as original studio work—clear milestones, thoughtful references, and a finished painting meant to live with you for years.

Portrait commissions are created with the same attention to warmth, detail, and emotional presence that define Whitney's original work. Whether you are looking for a child portrait, family piece, or a meaningful custom painting, each commission is developed with care and close attention to reference, tone, and composition.

The process begins with an inquiry and reference review, followed by a quote and timeline. Once the concept is approved, Whitney creates a one-of-a-kind painting designed to feel personal, timeless, and beautifully suited to your space.

How it works

  1. Inquiry & references — Share your goals, space, and any reference imagery. We confirm fit and direction before moving forward.
  2. Quote & agreement — You receive a clear quote, timeline, and scope summary for review.
  3. Composition & approval — A thoughtful composition is proposed; once approved, painting begins.
  4. Final delivery — The finished work is prepared for handoff or shipping, with care instructions included.

What to expect

  • • Direct communication and a calm, organized process
  • • Attention to likeness, light, and emotional presence—not gimmicks
  • • A painting built to read beautifully from a distance and up close

Timing

Timelines vary by size, complexity, and studio schedule. After inquiry, you'll receive an estimated range with your quote. Rush requests may not always be possible; quality and drying time matter for oils.
